We created a bold and curvaceous brand mark for Receation that embodies female empowerment. Inspired by J. Howard Miller’s iconic WW2 ‘We Can Do It’ campaign poster, the letter ‘R’ reflects the strength of a female production worker with her sleeves rolled up. This powerful imagery resonates with modern consumers who value confidence and empowerment.

The clean and simple packaging represents the natural and ethical ingredients that set these fragrances apart in the competitive clean perfume market. Dominating the packaging, the ‘R’ serves as a visual shorthand for Recreation, symbolizing the brand's hallmark of confidence. Its subtle pink, blue, and yellow gradient infill echoes the enchanting twilight beach skies of Bondi.

In navigating the start-up landscape, budget considerations are crucial. Our client wisely allocated resources towards a custom-designed bottle for their flagship product while utilizing off-the-shelf options for subsequent product lines—an astute decision that yielded exceptional results. We collaborated with Vert Industrial Design House for the bottle design, exploring the intrinsic beauty of basic geometry with a softened hexagon shape.

The bottle's design embodies simple beauty without over-engineering, providing a comfortable grip while maintaining a sense of weight. Subtle vertical chime lines create a gentle rhythm and an illusion of roundness, complemented by clever faceted sides. The clear, heavy base strikes the perfect balance between femininity and strength. Additionally, the debossed aluminum cap sits flush against the bottle’s shoulder, optimizing overall proportions, while the base features a debossed ‘R’ for an unexpected discovery.

Bondi Beach comes to life in a fragrance experience that embodies feminine strength.

For the clean perfume brand Recreation, Depot was engaged to develop branding and packaging that embodies a commitment to purity and sustainability. We aimed to create a brand that resonates with empowered women who value eco friendly practices and natural ingredients in their fragrances. The design reflects the laid-back essence of Bondi Beach culture, merging a relaxed aesthetic with the elegance of clean perfumes.
