Recreation Bondi Beach creates all-natural fragrances, made without toxic and synthetic ingredients, and with no animal testing. We were tasked with creating a brand that reflects this pure and clean philosophy, speaks to the strong and confident women who are drawn to it, and evokes the relaxed culture of Bondi Beach.

The simple clean packaging represents the natural and ethical ingredients that differentiates the fragrances. The bold and curvaceous brand mark was specifically designed to embody female empowerment, the letter ‘R’ being inspired by the iconic image from J. Howard Miller’s WW2 ‘We Can Do It’ campaign poster; a strong female production worker with her sleeves rolled up. The bottle design uses simple geometry, with a twist—a rounded hexagon. This coupled with a clear heavy base is a perfect balance of femininity + strength.

With any startup, budget always plays a significant role. This client chose to direct the budget towards a bespoke bottle for her flagship product and use off-the-shelf bottles for the remaining product roll-out. Good choice, it worked beautifully.
